A wildfire erupted in the Santa Clarita Valley on Monday afternoon, prompting evacuation orders for nearby residents. According to the Los Angeles County Fire Department, the blaze is one of multiple wildfires currently threatening Southern California.
As of Monday afternoon, the fire had consumed over 40 acres in the Pico Canyon Park area, situated between residential neighborhoods in Stevenson Ranch. The area affected by evacuation orders includes homes near Sagrecrest Circle and Chicory Court. Known as the ‘Max fire,’ the blaze ignited around 4:20 p.m. in the hiking regions of Pico Canyon Park, close to Magnolia Lane.
Aerial footage revealed intense flames nearing a cul-de-sac of homes, with firefighting helicopters conducting water drops and ground crews working to establish containment lines. This story is still unfolding, and ongoing updates are expected as firefighters work to control the blaze.
