Search Continues for Missing Mother of ‘Today’ Co-Host Savannah Guthrie

1 day ago 0

President Donald Trump expressed optimism on Tuesday that investigators will be able to locate Nancy Guthrie, the missing mother of ‘Today’ co-host Savannah Guthrie. Nearly five months after her disappearance, the case continues to capture nationwide attention.

Speaking to reporters at Reading Regional Airport in Pennsylvania, Trump shared his hopeful sentiment regarding the ongoing efforts by the FBI and other investigative bodies to find Nancy Guthrie. ‘I hope they find her,’ Trump stated. ‘That family has gone through hell.’

The search for Guthrie, an 84-year-old woman from Arizona, marks its 20th week. The case is accompanied by emotional public appeals from Savannah Guthrie urging anyone with information to contact authorities. A sign reading ‘Nancy Guthrie Desparecida,’ placed by Madres Buscadoras De Sonora near her residence in Tucson, underscores the urgency of the search. Savannah Guthrie has announced a $1 million reward for information leading to her mother’s whereabouts.

During a ‘Today’ show segment, Savannah Guthrie implored viewers to come forward with any knowledge related to her mother’s disappearance. Her plea, ‘Somebody knows something. We are in agony,’ resonates deeply with the public.

Recent developments include a ransom note sent to the Guthrie family, claiming that Nancy Guthrie died shortly after being kidnapped from her home in Catalina Foothills, north of Tucson. A federal law enforcement source familiar with the investigation revealed to Fox News that the note described her as ‘buried with nature.’ The communication, notably lacking any demand for payment, included language of remorse, which experts say is atypical in authentic ransom letters.

The authenticity of these ransom notes has not been confirmed by authorities, and investigators have yet to identify their sender. Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos disclosed to Fox News Digital that numerous ransom communications have been reviewed by investigators and the FBI; some deemed fraudulent, while others potentially hold credibility.

Nancy Guthrie was reported missing early February from her home near Tucson. The FBI, Pima County Sheriff’s Office, and other law enforcement agencies are actively engaged in the investigation. Savannah Guthrie has vowed her family’s determination to seek answers. ‘We love our mom. We’ll never stop looking for her, never.’
