Maryland deputies reported that a woman allegedly challenged Taco Bell staff to confront her outside, lifted her shirt to show a handgun, and placed a hand on the weapon’s grip due to an argument over a food order delay.
Ashley Andrews, aged 30, faced arrest on June 18. Sheriff’s deputies responded to a Taco Bell in Chester, Maryland, following reports of a customer displaying a firearm during an argument with employees, as per the Queen Anne’s County Office of the Sheriff.
The incident occurred despite a new Taco Bell Live Mas Café opening in Spring, Texas, on November 18, 2025, highlighting separate events across different states.
Restaurant employees informed deputies that Andrews became frustrated with the wait time for her food. She allegedly told staff to meet her outside in the parking lot, revealed her handgun, and used threatening language.
On arrival, deputies detained Andrews and another group member involved in a continuing verbal dispute. Authorities confirmed recovering a loaded firearm from Andrews.
The sheriff’s office indicated that investigators reviewed surveillance footage and personal video captured by an employee, which seemed to support the workers’ account of events.
Deputies confirmed that surveillance footage demonstrated Andrews lifting her shirt to reveal the handgun and placing her hand on the grip while continuing the confrontation with employees.
This altercation occurred at a Taco Bell within the Kent Town Market shopping area on Maryland’s Eastern Shore.
Court documents from Law&Crime revealed that Andrews initially faced a $5,000 bond before securing release on bail the day after.
The sheriff’s office charged her with second-degree assault, possession of a handgun, disorderly conduct, and reckless endangerment. Additionally, they banned her from the Taco Bell property.
Andrews, represented by a public defender, has requested a speedy trial. A court date is set for July.
