Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr. have decided to sell their Los Angeles residence. The well-known couple has listed their home in Brentwood for $10.5 million. They are working with listing agent Cindy Ambuehl of Christie’s International Real Estate Southern California.
Built in 2006, the property offers 7,318 square feet of space. It includes five bedrooms and six bathrooms. Notable features include a chef’s kitchen with a breakfast nook, a dining room, and a living room designed for indoor and outdoor living.
The house also includes an office and an extra room that serves as a playroom for their children. Outside, there is a resort-style pool, an outdoor kitchen, and various lounge areas highlighted by beautiful landscaping.
Gellar and Prinze Jr. met while filming the 1997 movie I Know What You Did Last Summer
and began dating in 2000. They announced their engagement in 2001 and married in 2002. In September 2025, they celebrated their 23rd wedding anniversary. Gellar recently shared her secret to maintaining a successful marriage, emphasizing the importance of having separate bathrooms available: One bedroom, two bathrooms,
she said in an interview with People magazine.
In a separate discussion with People, Gellar explained her decision to leave acting for nearly a decade. Sharing that she felt too defined by her career, she recalled, I had my second child. I was on The Crazy Ones. Robin [Williams] passed away,
she stated. Gellar continued, I wanted a break,
marking the first time she took significant time away from her career.
Gellar began her acting career at 16, gaining fame from roles in All My Children and the hit series Buffy the Vampire Slayer. After her involvement with The Crazy Ones, she largely stepped back from major projects. She reflected, It’s time I can never get back with my kids.
Her return to acting came in the 2022 Netflix film Do Revenge, followed by parts in Wolf Pack, Dexter: Original Sin, and Ready or Not 2: Here I Come. Gellar also announced plans to reboot Buffy the Vampire Slayer with director Chloé Zhao in February 2025. Intended to spotlight a new slayer, the project titled Buffy: New Sunnydale faced challenges and was shelved in March 2026. We had an executive on our show who was not only not a fan of the original, but was proud to constantly remind us,
Gellar commented, highlighting the difficulties faced in production.
