Bipartisan Support Emerges for Nancy Mace’s Push to Subpoena Bill Gates

4 months ago 0

Bipartisan legislators are expressing their support for Rep. Nancy Mace’s initiative to subpoena Bill Gates, the co-founder of Microsoft. This comes in light of what Mace describes as ‘disturbing’ allegations linked to Jeffrey Epstein, which Gates’s former spouse Melinda Gates believes should be addressed.

These demands surface as Congress tries to navigate through the recent disclosure of 3.5 million documents connected to Epstein. The files raise significant questions about how Congress can proceed in ensuring accountability.

“I submitted a letter to [Chairman James Comer, R-Ky.] today requesting a subpoena for Bill Gates,” Mace disclosed to Fox News Digital. She elaborated that Epstein had allegedly emailed about having contracted a sexually transmitted disease (STD) and interactions with various women. Mace clarified, “I’m not asserting he is guilty, but I believe he should be questioned.”

“Epstein was sending emails about how he had contracted an STD, may have been involved with various women, allegedly — all allegedly. I’m not saying he did anything, but I’d like to bring him in.”

Democratic Rep. Robert Garcia from California, who heads the Democratic contingent on the committee, expressed his backing for Mace’s proposal and suggested the committee’s scope may widen with further inquiries.

The release of the documents followed the Epstein Files Transparency Act enforcement, which led to legislators sorting through an array of images, correspondence, and documents. Rep. Nancy Mace emphasized wanting more clarity on Gates’s ties to Epstein, particularly after witnessing Melinda Gates’s recent interview.

The disclosed files hint that Epstein might have assisted Gates in concealing sensitive matters from his wife during their marriage. Epstein, in an email to himself, alleged Gates sought assistance to slip antibiotics to Melinda Gates regarding an STD. Furthermore, it claimed Gates requested the deletion of messages relating to the matter. Bill Gates has denied any wrongdoing in these contexts.

Rep. Byron Donalds, R-Fla., from the Oversight Committee, also endorses the call for Gates’s testimony. He emphasizes, however, the need for a defined process for deciding who the committee summons, mentioning the possibility of prioritizing certain figures, like former President Bill Clinton, for the initial questioning. Clinton’s name gained attention following new photos with Epstein unveiled by the DOJ.

Similarly, other lawmakers, like Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi, D-Ill., note a behind-the-scenes protocol for selecting witnesses, though the specifics remain behind closed doors.

Rep. Jim McGovern, D-Mass., voiced support for thorough questioning, willing to proceed witness by witness to uncover the full truth behind the files. The pursuit of transparency resonates across the committee’s discussions.

As the debate evolves, the committee continues working through the complex interplay of names and information tangled in the Epstein files, striving for a comprehensive examination and truth-determination process.
