Five men in Florida face felony robbery charges. They allegedly robbed a man walking home from work, stealing a vape pen valued at about $30. The incident occurred around 9:36 p.m. on a Sunday in Winter Haven, according to local police.

Investigators reported that the victim was approached by a pickup truck while returning from his shift. Five men exited the vehicle and demanded everything in his pockets. The victim stated he only had a cellphone and a vape pen.

One suspect allegedly revealed a gun in his waistband and demanded the items. The men searched the victim’s pockets, took the vape pen, and asked for his cellphone. The victim refused, claiming it had a tracker.

The suspects returned to their truck and left the scene.

Officers later found the pickup near a home. They observed several men resembling the suspects’ descriptions. Upon seeing the police, the men ran inside the house and initially resisted coming out. Eventually, the authorities detained the suspects.

The suspects include Damarius Jamel Taylor, 18, Tayshawn Williams, 18, Javon Prince Jackson-Roby, 19, Martice Spears Jr., 19, and Deshawn Antwon Lampkin, 19. All are charged with robbery with a weapon and petit theft. Taylor also faces an outstanding warrant from Highlands County.

Police interviewed a 17-year-old girl who was in the truck during the incident. She accompanied her boyfriend and his friends to several stores before they stopped near a cemetery. The teen did not witness the robbery but heard yelling. She later observed a man returning with a green vape pen, stating that he had “got the vape.”

In addition to the primary charges, two 17-year-old girls were charged with resisting arrest without violence. One allegedly gave a false birth date, and the other allegedly blocked officers from entering the residence.

Fox News contacted the Winter Haven Police Department for additional comments.
