Recently released dispatch audio has provided details about a reported domestic violence incident involving Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs. Audio obtained by TMJ 4 highlights a dispatcher communicating with a police officer regarding ‘yelling and screaming’ heard on an open call from Jacobs’ Wisconsin home.
‘Things being thrown, open line,’ the dispatcher said. ‘Possibly a male and female.’
In addition, a second call’s audio featured a neighbor reporting an alleged assault. ‘The neighbor is calling now, saying that her neighbor was assaulted,’ the dispatcher relayed.
Upon reaching Jacobs’ home, police did not find him there. He had left in his Mercedes G-Wagon, though authorities tracked the vehicle using license plate readers and issued a request to stop it if seen.
Jacobs was arrested the following Tuesday by the Hobart-Lawrence Police Department. He faces five charges related to domestic abuse. The charges include domestic abuse battery, criminal damage to property, disorderly conduct, strangulation and suffocation, and victim intimidation. According to Brown County Jail records, strangulation and suffocation is classified as a felony, while the other four are misdemeanors.
The investigation remains active and ongoing, as stated by the police.
Jacobs’ attorneys, David Z. Chesnoff and Clarence Duchac, stated that their client, 28, denies all allegations: ‘Josh vehemently denies the allegations, and this matter is in the early stages of investigation with important evidence that has not yet been made public. We ask for fairness and restraint while the judicial process takes its course.’
The NFL is aware of the situation and has communicated with the Packers. Green Bay commented that the ongoing investigation prevents them from making further remarks.
Jacobs has completed his second season with the Packers, achieving 929 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns on 1,234 carries in 2025. In 2024, he amassed 1,329 yards on 301 attempts and scored 15 touchdowns. Before joining Green Bay, Jacobs spent five seasons with the Las Vegas Raiders, leading the league with 1,653 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns during the 2022 season.
