Nvidia Unveils New AI-Driven Superchips at Computex 2026

In Taipei, Taiwan, Nvidia’s CEO Jensen Huang announced the launch of the company’s new high-performance chips during the Computex 2026 exhibition. These chips promise to integrate advanced AI functions into both laptops and desktop computers. This development marks a major step in Nvidia’s bid to expand its influence in AI systems and technology across various products.

The announcement was made during the annual Nvidia GTC event in Taipei. Microsoft’s collaboration with Nvidia aims to redefine the personal computer. Huang introduced Nvidia’s RTX Spark superchip, designed to combine the functions of a CPU and a GPU. This chip will power upcoming Windows laptops and desktops, expected to be branded as “AI personal computers” later this year.

Nvidia holds the title of the world’s most valuable company, surpassing giants like Apple, Alphabet, and Microsoft. The new superchips aim to compete vigorously with established players like Intel and AMD. Following the announcement, Nvidia experienced a nearly 4% rise in shares, while Intel and AMD saw declines of more than 3%.

The new superchips promise to transform PCs used for creation and gaming. Huang highlighted the potential for these PCs to have AI agents capable of personal interaction and task management. Microsoft confirmed that computers powered by these chips will effectively support complex AI models and workloads, thanks to local AI processing capabilities.

Huang emphasized the significance of this innovation, marking a pivotal shift in PC design over the past four decades. The growing demand for personal AI agents underscores the importance of Nvidia’s move.

Lian Jye Su, a chief analyst at Omdia, stressed that this development offers consumers wider choices. Neil Shah, co-founder of Counterpoint Research, noted this move could redefine PC technology for the next decade. He expects these computers to catalyze the integration of AI supercomputers in domestic settings.

Additionally, Huang announced that Nvidia’s new Vera CPUs for data centers are in production. These CPUs are set to become a major growth engine amid the AI boom, with early adopters like Anthropic, OpenAI, and SpaceXAI already onboard.

In other news, Nvidia unveiled a humanoid robot reference design aimed at advancing research, especially in higher education. The “Isaac GR00T” is equipped with five-fingered dexterous hands developed by Sharpa, promising sophisticated control capabilities. The humanoid design uses a chassis from Unitree’s H2 robot.
