The Pentagon has unveiled a collection of previously undisclosed files regarding unidentified flying objects, often referred to as UFOs. This measure is part of an effort to demonstrate the department’s commitment to transparency.
In a news release, the Pentagon stated, “No other president or administration in history has followed through on this level of U.A.P. transparency,” referring to unidentified anomalous phenomena, the term now used by the Department of Defense.
The files, housed at war.gov/ufo, will be updated regularly. The first batch includes blurry images that are open to interpretation, featuring clusters of dots and oddly shaped objects.
Back in 2017, The New York Times revealed the Pentagon’s previously classified program, initiated in 2007, which explored incidents reported by service members involving possible space objects. This disclosure sparked legislative interest in having the government reveal more about its UFO-related work.
