President Donald Trump has revealed a list of performers for a rally in Washington D.C. to mark America’s 250th anniversary. On Truth Social, Trump stated that Lee Greenwood will introduce him with the hit song “God Bless the U.S.A.”
Christopher Macchio is also scheduled to perform, singing “Nessun Dorma,” “Hallelujah,” “Ave Maria,” “God Bless America,” along with other selections.
The rally will include performances from the U.S. Army Band, the U.S. Marine Band, and the Joint Armed Forces Chorus.
Trump confirmed his attendance at the event saying, “PLUS a fine and highly dignified gentleman known as, President DONALD J. TRUMP!”
His announcement follows the withdrawal of several performers from the Freedom 250 celebration events. Trump suggested the possibility of replacing “highly paid, Third Rate ‘Artists'” with a speech by himself, asserting that he draws larger audiences than Elvis Presley did at his peak.
This is a developing story, stay tuned for updates.
