President Trump revealed a newly designed Air Force One, a red, white, and blue Boeing 747, provided by the Qatari government. This new plane, shown at Joint Base Andrews, has replaced the two baby-blue jets used since 1990. Over the years, these jets experienced various maintenance issues.
Trump described the plane as a ‘flying White House’ with unprecedented luxury. The hangar accommodating the larger jet had to be constructed specifically for this purpose. The updated design aims to refresh the visual identity of Air Force One.
During the announcement, Trump noted that the shift in colors was overdue, stating, “These are the colors: red, white and blue. And we like the baby blue, but it was time for a change, and this is the sleekest line.” He emphasized the importance of this change by comparing it to other nations’ aircraft, which he found to be more visually appealing than the previous Air Force One.
The new jet marks part of Trump’s broader plan to redesign various presidential and Washington landmarks, ensuring they align with his preferred style. On July 4, the revamped Air Force One is expected to perform a flyover across Washington, followed by F-22 and F-35 fighter jets.
