Sherri Shepherd’s talk show, “Sherri,” will conclude after four seasons, as recently confirmed by a spokesperson for the show to “Good Morning America.” The co-presidents of the television syndication company Debmar-Mercury, Ira Bernstein and Mort Marcus, released a statement addressing the show’s cancellation.
This decision is driven by the evolving daytime television landscape and does not reflect on the strength of the show, its production – which has found strong creative momentum this season – or the incredibly talented Sherri Shepherd. We believe in this show and in Sherri and intend to explore alternatives for it on other platforms,
said Bernstein and Marcus.
Production for the fourth season will continue as initially scheduled, with the series wrapping up its final episodes in the fall. ABC News has also reached out to Shepherd’s publicist to obtain further comments.
Sherri Shepherd, who was present for her Hollywood Walk of Fame star unveiling ceremony in Los Angeles on November 3, 2025, began hosting “Sherri” in September 2022. The talk show was set up as a replacement for “The Wendy Williams Show” following Wendy Williams’ health issues.
Prior to hosting her own show, Shepherd had co-hosted “The View” for eight seasons. Since its debut, “Sherri” has been recognized with two NAACP Image Awards. The first was awarded to Shepherd in 2024 for outstanding host in a talk or news/information series or special, while the show itself won the award for outstanding talk series in 2025. Additionally, the show garnered six Daytime Emmy nominations.
In 2023, in light of the show’s success, Debmar-Mercury announced a renewal of “Sherri” for two additional years through the 2024-2025 season. Shepherd was quoted expressing her excitement at the time, stating:
I am so thrilled that Sherri has been renewed for two more years. I launched this show with the mission to give daytime viewers a ‘good time,’ just like my theme song says. I am so appreciative that Fox and Debmar-Mercury have partnered with me to continue bringing more laughter, joy, and inspiration to my audience.
The fourth season officially premiered in September 2025. The announcement of “Sherri”‘s cancellation came just hours after Kelly Clarkson disclosed her departure from “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” which is ending after its seventh season. NBC subsequently confirmed in a press release that “The Kelly Clarkson Show” will conclude following its current season.
