Supreme Court to Decide Key Trump Administration Cases

1 hour ago 0

The Supreme Court is nearing the end of its term, preparing to release over a dozen final opinions in the coming two weeks. These include important decisions on birthright citizenship, the Federal Reserve, and transgender athletes.

Decisions will address whether President Trump can eliminate birthright citizenship for U.S.-born children of undocumented immigrants and whether he can dismiss Lisa D. Cook from her position at the Federal Reserve.

This term’s decisions have already seen significant outcomes. In February, Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. and two justices appointed by Trump invalidated the president’s tariffs on imports from key U.S. trading partners. This decision, supported by the court’s three Democratic nominees, has drawn harsh criticism from Trump, who labeled the justices as “fools and lap dogs.”

President Trump has been vocally critical in anticipation of the ruling on birthright citizenship. He criticized the justices for posing what he perceived as biased questions during April’s oral arguments, a session he attended, marking the first such attendance by a sitting president.
