Sydney Sweeney’s journey over recent months has been a significant one, marked by both physical transformations and new business ventures. Leading up to the unveiling of her lingerie brand SYRN, Sweeney experienced dramatic changes in weight and appearance.
Transformation for ‘Christy’
In November 2025, Sweeney took on the challenging role of portraying boxing pioneer Christy Martin. To fully embody Martin, she underwent a substantial physical transformation, gaining 35 pounds. The process involved rigorous training, fueled by a diet rich in protein shakes.
Sweeney shared with Good Morning America, “I turned my grandma’s shed into my ‘Rocky’ gym and trained there daily with a boxing coach.” The intense preparation resulted in real on-set boxing injuries, including a concussion.
Weight Loss and Red Carpet Appearances
Post-filming, Sweeney underwent a rapid change, shedding over 30 pounds within seven weeks. Discussing her weight loss with People, she highlighted the discipline required to adapt her body for various roles. “When you stop working out and taking all your protein shakes, you lose muscle super fast,” she explained.
Her transformation was evident when she attended several high-profile events, including the 2025 GQ Men of the Year event, where she wowed attendees with a Versace gown previously donned by Naomi Campbell.
Fashion and Film Premieres
With a nod to classic Hollywood glamour, Sweeney appeared at the premiere of her film “The Housemaid,” channeling icons Marilyn Monroe and Pamela Anderson. Her striking outfits for both the New York and Los Angeles premieres were a testament to her versatility.
She continued to make fashion statements at events like the Governors Awards and a pre-Golden Globes party in Beverly Hills.
Launch of SYRN
On January 28, 2026, Sydney Sweeney announced the launch of SYRN, her new lingerie line, through social media. The brand focuses on inclusivity and designing for diverse body types. Reflecting on her own experiences, Sweeney stated, “I was in the 6th grade with DDs. I hated the bra I had to wear… Designing for different bodies is a huge part of Syrn.”
Expressing her passion for the project, she emphasized, “Lingerie is such a fun way to express yourself. You get to feel feminine, and you get to feel powerful.”
