These soldiers, who preferred to remain anonymous due to fear of backlash, shared their experiences with the Associated Press. They described incidents where they targeted Palestinian vehicles near the controversial ‘yellow line’ that divides Israeli and Palestinian territories.

According to their testimonies, confusion surrounds the rules of engagement despite a ceasefire that took effect in October. The lack of clarity has contributed to tragic events where both militants and civilians have lost their lives. A soldier stated, “To call it a ceasefire is a joke.” The ceasefire agreement, although designed to de-escalate conflict, appears fragile with both sides accusing each other of violations.
