2 hours ago 0

The Trump administration highlighted a significant achievement in immigration enforcement, announcing the arrest of over 10,000 suspected gang members. This effort is part of a broader campaign aimed at removing violent criminals from U.S. communities.

According to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), those apprehended face accusations related to serious offenses such as murder, assault, drug trafficking, racketeering, robbery, and extortion.

DHS Initiative and Markwayne Mullin’s Statement

Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin emphasized ICE’s effectiveness in achieving the administration’s safety goals. “Under President Trump’s leadership, ICE has detained more than 10,000 gang members,” Mullin stated. He noted the contribution of the Secure America Act in enhancing the agency’s capabilities.

Mullin commented, “Many of these gang members were released into our country by Joe Biden. These vicious criminals have caused harm to innocent Americans.”

Identification of Suspects

The 10,000th arrest involved Javier Hernandez Rosas, an alleged MS-13 gang member from Mexico. Rosas has previous convictions for cocaine possession and was previously arrested for abduction and weapons charges.

President Donald Trump claims these actions are effective against illegal immigration, citing reverse migration and increased enforcement efforts.

Customs and Border Protection Achievements

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) reached a staffing milestone, reporting 21,471 agents, the highest in its history. The administration’s focus on border security has reportedly led to a significant decline in illegal immigration compared to October 2024.
