President Donald Trump has shared new details about the United States’ negotiations with Iran following the recent signing of a memorandum of understanding aimed at ending the ongoing conflict. In an interview with Axios’ Marc Caputo, Trump commented on the 14-point agreement and dismissed claims that it was not equivalent to Iran’s unconditional surrender.

Trump asserted, “Well, it really probably is unconditional surrender,” in response to Caputo’s questioning.

Highlighting the military situation, Trump stated the U.S. had successfully dismantled Iran’s military operations, claiming the destruction of 159 ships and numerous aircraft. He noted significant eliminations of Iran’s leadership, which included past influential figures.

Trump elaborated on the covert operations carried out by the U.S. over two months, aimed at removing Iran’s naval capabilities. He explained how radar systems were disabled, allowing unobserved U.S. actions.

According to Trump, significant night missions took place that resulted in sequential removal of ships and military assets.

Regarding the economic implications, Trump announced that the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz would impact oil prices favorably. He highlighted the stock market rise following the potential deal with Iran, emphasizing efforts to prevent Iranian nuclear capabilities.

A memorandum of understanding between Trump and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian includes a plan to end the conflict and open the Strait of Hormuz, alongside a scheduled period of nuclear negotiations.

Trump also commented on improvements made in Washington, D.C., claiming substantial reduction in crime and beautification efforts in anticipation of the country’s 250th anniversary.
