The U.S. military is constructing a field hospital in central Kenya. This facility is intended to care for Americans exposed to Ebola. Administration officials announced that the hospital will be operational by Friday and has a capacity to accommodate 50 patients.
Officials are responding to criticism from Ebola experts regarding the decision to not repatriate infected Americans to the U.S. for treatment. Instead, those requiring more extensive care might be transferred to Europe.
At present, members of the Doctors Without Borders Ebola response team are actively preparing. They are seen securing protective suits and face shields outside a hospital in Mongbwalu, Democratic Republic of Congo.
