President Donald Trump announced his intention to nominate acting Attorney General Todd Blanche to permanently lead the Department of Justice. This announcement came on Wednesday evening.
In a social media video shared by White House Deputy Chief of Staff Dan Scavino, Trump is seen declaring his plan to nominate Blanche. Blanche currently holds the position on an interim basis following the dismissal of former Attorney General Pam Bondi in early April.
Trump stated, “Tomorrow I’m instructing Dan [Scavino] and everybody else that’s involved in that very complicated process, which is gonna go, I think, very quickly, that we are going to make him permanent Attorney General.” This statement was recorded during a dinner at the Rose Garden Club, held at the White House.
