A shooter is being sought by police after a deadly incident occurred following a high school graduation ceremony in California. The event led to one fatality and injuries to three individuals.
Police officers received a report of the shooting in the parking lot of Fairfield High School around 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The incident unfolded shortly after the graduation ceremony for Sam Yeteo High School concluded, while attendees were gathering for photographs.
Fairfield Police Department spokesperson, Officer Michelle Belyea, informed reporters that four individuals had been shot. She stated, “One is deceased and three others are receiving treatment at local hospitals.” She did not offer details on the identities or the extent of the injuries sustained by the victims.
No arrests have been made in relation to the shooting. Officer Belyea did not provide additional details or a description of the suspect.
On Wednesday evening, Suisun City Mayor Alma Hernandez mentioned on Facebook that an “active shooter chase” was taking place in Fairfield.
