Nike’s Director of Global Footwear, Odinga Nimako, explained that athletes link this color with confidence and visibility. He referenced Nike’s past innovations, such as the silver, yellow, and blue boots during the 1998 World Cup, which shifted perceptions about footwear in soccer.

This tournament sees several shoe brands, including Nike, Adidas, Puma, Skechers, and New Balance, featuring their pink boots. Players like Kylian Mbappé, Vinícius Junior, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Erling Haaland sport Nike’s designs. In contrast, Reyna, Jude Bellingham, Declan Rice, Jonathan David, Lamine Yamal, and Ousmane Dembélé opt for Adidas boots.

Puma’s pink boots are worn by Neymar Jr. and Weston McKennie, while Timothy Weah represents New Balance. Skechers shoes are chosen by Harry Kane and Anthony Elanga. Alex Bardini, Director of Technical Performance at Skechers, stated that the color inspiration comes from their southern California location, reflecting a sunset’s warm hues.

Pink boots have emerged victoriously even before the World Cup concludes. During Sweden vs. Tunisia in Monterrey, Mexico, three out of five goals were scored by players in pink boots.

The color itself doesn’t enhance player performance directly, but shoe company executives highlight the significance of mindset. Bardini emphasized Skechers’ focus on comfort and performance. Nimako of Nike highlighted the integration of engineering and design in their products, enhancing the athlete’s perception.
