The Justice Department has retracted subpoenas targeting Post and Wall Street Journal reporters. The subpoenas aimed to have these journalists testify before a grand jury regarding their national security reporting. Both newspapers acted to nullify the subpoenas through private hearings in federal court. Before any judicial decision, the government decided to withdraw the subpoenas.
