Recent disclosures regarding Sarah Ferguson’s past interactions with Jeffrey Epstein have reignited scrutiny over the British royal family’s ties to the infamous financier. According to newly released documents from the Department of Justice (DOJ), Ferguson’s association with Epstein has led experts to conclude that she is now considered ‘unfit for any royal proximity.’
Among the documents, an email from 2010 stands out, where Ferguson made an inappropriate remark regarding her daughter, Princess Eugenie, who was then 19. This new revelation has only intensified existing rumors of her closeness to Epstein, who had a criminal record for sex offenses.
“This revelation assures that Sarah and Andrew will remain distanced from the royal family,” stated Hilary Fordwich to Fox News Digital. “Prince William, who has a zero-tolerance policy regarding royal connections to Epstein, is said to be especially upset.”
In one email, Ferguson jokingly referred to her daughter’s weekend plans in a crude manner. In another email from 2009, she allegedly planned a lunch with Epstein, stating it would include herself and her daughters, Beatrice and Eugenie.
Royal experts argue that her familiarity with Epstein reflects poorly on her judgment and questions why she maintained such ties despite Epstein’s notoriety.
“No one with good judgment would choose to associate with Epstein,” Fordwich commented. “Sarah Ferguson turned to Epstein amid her own financial struggles, often seeking financial support even after his conviction.”
Sources indicate that Ferguson’s financial dependence on Epstein emerged due to excessive spending, leading her to seek his monetary aid even after his 2008 conviction. This connection was further criticized after it was revealed Ferguson and her daughters might have attended gatherings organized by Epstein.
Although Ferguson later expressed regret for their association in an interview, in an email, she referred to Epstein as a ‘steadfast friend.’
Public and media reactions to these disclosures have been overwhelmingly negative, with many expressing disillusionment over Ferguson’s alleged introduction of her children into her connection with Epstein.
Princess Eugenie’s current role as a patron of The Anti-Slavery Collective raises further complications, given its focus on combatting sex trafficking and modern slavery. The surfacing of these emails could potentially undermine her work and public image.
Ferguson’s history with Epstein has once again brought unwanted attention to the royal family, with royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams warning of further damaging revelations yet to come.
