Guitarist Nita Strauss of Alice Cooper’s band has become a mother for the first time. She and her husband, musician-manager Josh Villalta, welcomed their son, Maxwell James Villalta, on May 28. The couple recently shared their news with the public.
In an interview, the couple expressed their joy and shared photos with their fans. Nita stated, “We’re in the full-on newborn phase: exhausted, figuring new parenthood out as we go, and it’s still been the most fulfilling time of our lives. Even after only a few days, motherhood is already the best thing I’ve ever done.”
The name Maxwell was chosen with hope for his future. Josh explained, “Whatever he does in his life, we hope he does it to the max.” His middle name, James, honors Nita’s father, musician James Strauss.
“I’ve always heard people say ‘You don’t know true love until they put your baby on your chest for the first time,’ but I never fully understood it until it happened to me!” Nita expressed about the birthing experience.
She also looks forward to motherhood’s journey, saying, “I’m excited for every phase of this new chapter, from learning to care for a newborn to bringing our son on tour when the time comes! It’s going to be amazing, chaotic, and thrilling.”
During Nita’s maternity leave, 22-year-old guitarist Anna Cara will perform with Cooper’s band. Nita, known for her delightful personality, seems well-suited for motherhood.
