The Los Angeles Sparks chose Cameron Brink as the No. 2 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft. Despite her talent, Brink has encountered numerous challenges since her selection.
During her rookie year, Brink played 14 games before suffering a season-ending ACL tear on June 18, 2024. This injury also affected her 2025 season. Her return came on July 29, 2025, and she managed to participate in 19 games that year.
In her third season, Brink aimed to excel, now fully recovered. Unfortunately, she faced another obstacle during the Sparks’ 78-58 defeat to the Golden State Valkyries in the WNBA Commissioner’s Cup. Towards the game’s conclusion, Cameron Brink was seen limping towards the bench. Her teammates assisted her to a seat as reported by ESPN’s Kendra Andrews. Brink walked off the court independently.
Post-game, Sparks head coach Lynne Roberts mentioned Brink is undergoing evaluation. Initially, there were no further updates until Sparks beat reporter John W. Davis announced Brink would miss the team’s game against the Minnesota Lynx due to a left ankle injury.
Fans hope the injury report stint is brief. Brink’s current season stats stand at 9.2 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.5 blocks, and 1.1 assists through 14 games, with the Sparks holding a 7-7 record.
