Vice President JD Vance shared his thoughts on his recent appearance on ‘The View.’ He was promoting his spiritual memoir, ‘Communion: Finding My Way Back to Faith.’ Despite anticipating a hostile reception, he found the interaction less harsh than expected.
During a conversation on ‘Gutfeld!’, Vance remarked, “I expected them to be absolutely vicious, but they were only a little bit vicious. It wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be.” He noted a surprising moment with Joy Behar, who said, ‘You’re, like, pretty good for a Republican.’ This comment stood out to Vance as unexpected praise.
While on ‘The View,’ Vance faced challenging dialogues. He engaged with co-host Whoopi Goldberg on allegations that the Trump administration altered or removed Black history exhibits in museums. Additionally, topics such as President Donald Trump’s comments on inflation and immigration were discussed.
Vance joked, “I thought Sunny, the woman to my left, was going to call me a racist. In reality, it was Whoopi, the woman to my right, who called me a racist. So expectations were defied.”
Before his appearance, Vance expressed optimism regarding the conversation with the hosts. In an interview with Fox News Digital, he shared his desire for a productive dialogue, despite being slightly skeptical.
Joseph A. Wulfsohn reported on this interaction for Fox News Digital, inviting readers to share story tips with him via email or Twitter.
