A 20-year-old woman from New Jersey tragically died in Florida while on vacation with friends. Reports indicate that Victoria Zardoya died after falling while visiting historic ruins at Fort Dade on Egmont Key.
Egmont Key is located at the mouth of Tampa Bay and is accessible strictly by boat. Zardoya, who was close friends with Milania Guidice, daughter of ‘Real Housewives of New Jersey’ star Teresa Guidice, fell from the ruins during a boating tour with friends.
Victoria Silberbusch, a friend of Zardoya, shared a detailed account of the incident on social media. Silberbusch recounted how Zardoya fell while visiting Fort Dade. She described Zardoya’s injuries as severe, stating that immediate help was provided at the scene. Emergency services were called, and paramedics responded by boat, with a helicopter later transporting Zardoya to a nearby hospital.
Sadly, Zardoya succumbed to her injuries two days later. Friends have been sharing tributes to Zardoya on social media, expressing their condolences. Silberbusch emphasized that Zardoya was never left alone, noting the collective effort of those present to assist her.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office responded to the incident on Friday around 5 p.m., closing their involvement by 11:16 p.m. that day. Fort Dade remains a favored destination for visitors exploring Egmont Key.
