19 hours ago 0

President Donald Trump has introduced another construction initiative for Washington, DC. He plans to build a pedestrian bridge linking the National Mall to the Potomac River. This announcement was made alongside Interior Secretary Doug Burgum during a meeting in the Oval Office on Thursday afternoon.

The proposed walkway would pass by the Lincoln Memorial, offering pedestrians a path over two bustling roadways. According to the president and Burgum, this project aims to fulfill an early-20th-century vision of connecting the National Mall with the nearby waterfront.

This pedestrian bridge is part of President Trump’s continued efforts to modify Washington’s monumental core. It follows his recent project to refurbish the Reflecting Pool at the Lincoln Memorial.
