3 hours ago 0

A group of nine protesters faces unusually lengthy sentences after federal courts, spurred by the Justice Department’s claims of Antifa association, addressed their cases. The protesters were apprehended outside a migrant detention facility in Texas, where a police officer was shot during their rally.

Justice correspondent Ali Rogin presented insights into this matter during a discussion with former federal prosecutor Paul Butler. Ali Rogin, notable for her coverage of the Supreme Court and the U.S. judicial system for PBS News Hour, brings a wealth of experience to this topic.

Rogin’s distinguished career includes earning a Peabody Award in 2021 for examining the global impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. She also holds two Edward R. Murrow Awards from the Radio Television Digital News Association. Rogin contributed to Emmy-nominated teams for her reporting on several significant events, such as the fall of ISIS in 2020, the Las Vegas mass shooting in 2017, President Barack Obama’s inauguration in 2014, and the 2010 midterm elections.
