After an eventful night at the ballpark where mayflies descended in droves, the morning dawns bright. Birds are active, and the day looks promising for another edition of Wednesday Screencaps.
Surprisingly, popular German soccer fan Freddy passed through Elmore, Ohio, on his way to more World Cup matches. Elmore is known for its sense of community. It’s where families visit Santa in an old log cabin and where local favorites like Bench’s Greenhouse thrive. Next Monday, my 14U team faces Elmore’s team. It’s a town that embodies the American spirit: family, hard work, and community engagement.
Just north in Toledo, additional safety measures are in place for the Fourth of July fireworks. Issues at community events prompted this response.
“If you’re driving the Ohio Turnpike, stop in Elmore. Schedel Gardens offers stunning landscapes developed by Joe and Marie Schedel.”
The allure of “free refills” amazes World Cup visitors, and Gen Z’s adventures continue in Las Vegas.
Golf and its Challenges
Ahead lies a demanding golf trip: 172 holes over five days. This includes stroke play, scrambles, and Ryder Cup formats. The trip starts at Jack Nicklaus’ Bear course in Traverse City, known for its difficulty. Nicklaus initially didn’t want it so challenging, but investors saw the potential in a tough course.
Beyond this, rounds will take place on courses designed by greats like Arnold Palmer and Tom Weiskopf, then continuing to Michigan’s Garland Resort for a large golf event.
Heading into this, my handicap is 18. I’m aiming for at least one sub-90 round. This won’t be easy, with courses demanding skill and strategy. The plan: avoid trouble, focus on safer plays, and score when possible. Drinks are part of the mix, fitting for a golf trip.
Lee: An Icon in the Screencaps Community
Lee represents the ideal Screencaps community member, with his achievement going viral on Facebook. He captioned his feat, “A beer & two darts.” This refreshing perspective celebrates personal success over industry professionals’ complaints.
Performances like Lee’s resonate more than typical pro golf conversations. They’re rooted in joy, accessible to many, and genuinely impressive.
The Thursday Night Mowing League
The Thursday Night Mowing League (TNML) offers more than yard maintenance tips. It’s an advocacy for mental health, changing perceptions about weekend chores. Chris, a new member, found TNML through FoxNews.com, transforming his Saturdays from drudgery to delight.
The TNML community continues to grow as weekend warriors discover a better way to mow, enjoying their leisure time.
As we approach the end of June, make the most of your time. Enjoy the summer days before they slip away.
