Johnny ‘Joey’ Jones Reenlists in Marine Corps at Pentagon Ceremony

2 weeks ago 0

Johnny ‘Joey’ Jones, a Fox News host, reenlisted in the United States Marine Corps on Wednesday. The ceremony took place at the Pentagon, where Jones shared reflections on his previous military service.

‘The last job I had in uniform was to heal,’ Jones stated. ‘The Marine Corps paid me to get better, and then I retired. It was unfinished business for me.’

Jones, a former staff sergeant, served for eight years, with two deployments. He sustained severe injuries in Afghanistan in 2010 while working as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal technician. The incident resulted in the loss of both legs and damage to his forearm and wrists.

At the reenlistment ceremony, Jones expressed his commitment to serve again. ‘If there’s an opportunity for me to serve, I want to open that door for anyone else who has something left to give,’ he said.

Secretary of War Pete Hegseth led the swearing-in at the Pentagon’s Hall of Heroes. Hegseth praised Jones, stating, ‘He’s the best spokesman for the Marine Corps, understanding what it means to serve.’ He considered Jones’ reenlistment ‘an absolute no brainer.’

Jones will continue his role as a co-host of ‘The Big Weekend Show’ and will provide military analysis for FOX News Media.

Beyond television, Jones is the author of the New York Times bestseller ‘Unbroken Bonds of Battle,’ focusing on those who protect U.S. freedoms. He also wrote ‘Behind the Badge: Answering the Call to Serve on America’s Homefront,’ highlighting first responders’ stories.

Jones dedicates time to issues affecting service members and established a fellowship on Capitol Hill with the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs.
