Rod Stewart, the 81-year-old musician, nearly faced a medical emergency during a performance at Utah First Credit Union Amphitheatre in West Valley City. Concerns arose when he began slowing down notably during his set.
In a video captured by TMZ, Stewart can be seen leaning heavily on stage equipment while continuing his performance. At one point, he signaled to backstage personnel, who quickly attended to him. A woman brought out an oxygen tank, and another placed a cold compress on his neck.
The show must go on,
Stewart declared into the microphone before admitting he nearly fainted. A representative for Stewart did not respond to requests for comment from Fox News Digital.
Last month, Stewart had to cancel two shows in Las Vegas at the last minute due to health concerns. These cancellations came just hours before he was scheduled to perform at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace on May 29 and 30.
His representative stated that the decision was made based on his doctor’s advice. Stewart expressed regret to fans, explaining he needed vocal rest as he recuperated from a sinus infection, and promised to return to the stage soon.
Earlier, Stewart also canceled shows in California. On Instagram, he shared his disappointment about a show cancellation in Chula Vista.
I’m very disappointed and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience to my fans,
he stated, promising to reschedule.
Despite these cancellations, Stewart later posted a video of him attending a World Cup soccer match with his sons. This sparked criticism among some fans who felt attending the match contradicted his inability to perform in San Diego.
Although Stewart has not commented on the recent onstage incident, he’s confirmed he is not retiring from music. In 2024, he announced a farewell tour but clarified it applied only to large-scale world tours.
This will be the end of large-scale world tours for me, but I have no desire to retire.
Stewart remains committed to performing, emphasizing his love for music.
