Unresolved UAP Sightings in the Northeastern and Western U.S.

1 hour ago 0

The Pentagon and FBI have released records detailing several orb sightings in the northeastern United States from October 2024 to June 2025. Among the reports is an incident where two witnesses saw a glowing red sphere resembling a basketball-sized ‘white plasma sun.’ These events are part of the Presidential Unsealing and Reporting System for Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP) Encounters, or PURSUE.

October 2024 Incident

Records mention a ‘plasma-like sphere’ observed hovering above a pond approximately 2,700 feet away. The object changed shape and brightness, sometimes separating into smaller points of light. It lasted around 45 minutes before disappearing, captured on video and authenticated by the government. The FBI deemed the eyewitness credible.

The Trump administration launched PURSUE to enhance transparency regarding UAP encounters.

July 2025 Incident

Another incident involved a witness seeing a bright light below the tree line behind a residence. The object was a red sphere about a meter in diameter with a bright white center, similar to a ‘plasma sun.’ A second witness also saw the object. The objects moved together, changed positions, and merged before disappearing. Videos and photographs were captured. Multiple reports came from the same area, indicating recurring activity.

Western U.S. Sightings

A significant unresolved case from 2023 involved ‘mother orbs’ releasing smaller objects near a sensitive national security site. Six federal agents witnessed these glowing orange orbs emitting smaller red objects in the night sky. Analysis compared the reports against flight logs, radar data, and other potential explanations.

Approximately 40% of these activities remain unexplained. Investigators suggested military flares could account for much of the sightings, and foreign technology was considered unlikely. ‘Unrecognized technology’ was a provisional hypothesis.

Other Sightings

Files released detail incidents like ‘Orbs Launching Orbs,’ ‘Fiery Orb,’ ‘Dark Kite,’ and ‘Translucent Kite,’ documented as unresolved cases. One unusual sighting occurred in February 2022 near Colorado Springs, where Army personnel reported a shimmering object above Cheyenne Mountain, described as resembling a ‘potato’ that shifted in shape. The Pentagon attributed this to possible sunlight reflections, though confidence was low.

Together, these reports showcase the diverse nature of UAP sightings under PURSUE, from explicable to unresolved incidents.

Reactions are mixed as transparency advocates appreciate access to files, while some researchers criticize the heavy reliance on witness testimony with limited technical data for verification. Former officials argue unresolved cases stem from insufficient information for conclusive results.

Government officials stress that unresolved cases do not prove extraterrestrial life or alien technology. Available records imply observations without evidential links to extraterrestrial origins.
